Manufactoring, characterization and mechanical tests in the RDD department

The R&D Detectors Department is composed of a 7 persons mechanical workshop which permits to fabricate, assembly, and adjust the detectors in close relation with the design office. It is equipped with a panel of machining, specialized and measuring tools.

Its activities are various and are the following :

Detectors construction and assemblywith help of particular tools and technics in Nuclear Physics. Integration on experiment site. Machining of complex and precise parts with help of CAD-CAM .

Technical support for R&D and prototype, measures and associated bench tests realization.

Manufacturing and adjustment of mechanical part on conventional tools.

Composites material parts manufacturing

Weld TIG of a vaccum chamber, support frames or cooling circuits.
Additive manufacturing - 3D printing

Management of the materiel procurement for the laboratory to purchase and distribute the metallic and plastic bars.
