Simulation of the propagation of optical photons in the RDD department

par Bernard Genolini - 27 janvier 2015

In the detection systems using scintillators detectors, the quality of the physical measure is directly connected to the light response of the crystal. Their simulation may require specific softwares, as a complement to the simulation with energy with GEANT 4. It allows to optimize the geometry of the crystal, the nature of the envelope and the assembly of the photodetector on the scintillator.

Within the project EXL/R3B, we simulated the light response of a CsI and LaBr3 crystals with the LITRANI library for various geometries, from the interaction step by step of γ photons with energies around the MeV, generated by GEANT 4.
