First Lights detected by NectarCam

The NectarCam mini-camera (CANEVAS project supported by LabEx P2IO) has been installed to the Medium Size Telescope (MST) prototype of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) at Adlershof, Berlin. During the night of May 22 to 23, NectarCam has detected the first shower events !
The IPNO’s team of CTA, whose technical responsibility is the design and manufacture of the camera calibration system, is currently involved in the commissioning and first data acquisition by the MST telescope in Berlin.
The telescope will then be installed around mid-2020 at the CTA’s North site in La Palma, Canary Islands.
